经驻旧金山总领馆教育组推荐，本期特刊登纪念优秀留学回国人员段宜武教授的文章。段宜武教授１９６１年生于湖南省临武县，１９８２年毕业于湖南师大物理系，１９８８年获广西大学核物理专业硕士学位后，任教于湖南湘潭师院，１９９２年任副教授，１９９３年调入湖南师大，并被国务院批准为“享受政府特殊津贴的突出贡献专家”。１９９４年，３３岁的段宣武晋升为教授；入选国家“百千万人才工程”，并赴美国卓克索大学作访问学者。１９９５年按期回国，任湖南师大物理系主任。１９９８年到加拿大滑铁卢大学作高访，同年回国担任湖南师大研究生处处长。１９９９年获中科院武汉物理与数学研究所物理学博士学位。２０００年５月，任湖南信息职业技术学院院长。 ２０００年 １０月 ２２日，段宜武教授在早晨上班的路上罹车祸，抢救无效，因公殉职，年仅３９岁。海内外同行和挚友扼腕唏嘘，纷纷撰文纪念他。 Recommended by the Education Section of the Consulate General in San Francisco, this special issue is dedicated to an article by Professor Duan Yiwu, who commemorates the outstanding returnees. Professor Duan Yivu was born in Linwu County, Hunan Province in 1961 and graduated from Hunan Normal University in 1982 with a master’s degree in nuclear physics from Guangxi University in 1982. After teaching at Xiangtan Teachers College in Hunan Province in 1992, he was an associate professor in 1992 and transferred to Hunan Normal University, and was approved by the State Council as “outstanding contributions to government special allowance experts.” In 1994, Duan Xuanwu, 33, was promoted to professor. He was selected as one of the “Talents Project of the People’s Republic of China” by the state and went to the University of Zhuoke as a visiting scholar. He returned to China on schedule in 1995 as director of the Physics Department of Hunan Normal University. In 1998, he made a high-profile visit to the University of Waterloo, Canada, and returned to serve as the director of graduate school of Hunan Normal University in the same year. In 1999 by the Chinese Academy of Sciences Wuhan Institute of Physics and Mathematics PhD in physics. May 2000, Hunan Institute of Information Technology Dean. On October 22, 2000, Professor Duan Yivu suffered a car accident on his way to work in the morning. The rescue was invalid and his death was only 39 years. Friends and colleagues at home and abroad clamoring sigh, have written to commemorate him.
