2005年,是我国“十五”计划的最后一年,广东省在2005年年初确定的各项任务圆满完成,标志着“十五”时期的奋斗目标顺利实现,改革开放和现代化建设取得了新的重大成绩。多年来,在党中央、国务院的正确领导下,广东省委、省政府带领全省人民高举邓小平理论和“三个代表”重要思想伟大旗帜,全面落实科学发展观,坚决执行中央宏观调控政策,有效抑制了经济运行中不稳定、不健康因素,经济社会在新的水平上保持健康、可持续、快速发展,在科学发展道路上迈出坚实的步伐。广东省总体经济实力跨上了历史性的新台阶,从总体上看,全省呈现政治稳定、社会安定、发展势头良好的可喜局面,与此同时,广东省农业、农村经济工作也取得了重大成就。“十五”期间,广东省有效化解了历史罕见旱涝灾害,有效防控了红火蚁的扩散,取得了防控高致病性禽流感的阶段性重大成果,实现了农业增效、农民增收、农村稳定,农业和农村经济保持了稳定发展的良好势头。
