From January 6 to 11, 2021, China Nonwovens & Industrial Textiles Association carried out a questionnaire survey on Suggestions on the Optimized Development of Pandemics Prevention Textiles Industry for enterprises related to masks, protective clothing, raw materials, equipment and other key anti-pandemic materials. As of January 11, 2021, a total of 176 valid questionnaires have been received. The detailed analysis is as follows:
In terms of production capacity and layout, there is a surplus of production capacity of anti-pandemic textiles, and there is room for further optimization of the layout of domestic anti-pandemic textiles. Industrial chain more focus on South China, East China, Beijing and Tianjin economic developed area. In terms of product types, the production capacity and layout of comprehensive enterprises and product manufacturing enterprises in South and East China are relatively concentrated, the raw materials and auxiliary materials in North and Central China are relatively concentrated, and the unreasonable layout phenomenon may be more obvious in Northeast, Northwest and Southwest China due to the small number of related enterprises.
In terms of production and operation, comprehensive enterprises generally enjoy good production and operation conditions in 2020, and most of such enterprises were founded in 2016 or before. In the newly established melt blown nonwovens manufacturing enterprises, the proportion of unsatisfactory production and operation is large. Nonwovens, accessories, equipment and other anti-pandemic textile related companies, non-manufacturing companies and other companies that switch to production of masks and protective clothing products are generally not satisfactory compared with other companies. The production and operation conditions of various enterprises in 2020 affect their production and operation expectations in 2021.
In terms of investment willingness, a large proportion of industrial chain enterprises with good production and operation in 2020 tend to increase investment, while the majority of enterprises with poor production and operation choose to reduce output, store capacity, or even withdraw gradually.
In terms of enterprise demands, the demands of enterprises mainly focus on market supervision, incremental market cultivation, emergency reserve, technological upgrading, etc. In related demands, the companies in the short-term industry chain generally agree on the need to strengthen market supervision, build emergency reserves and improve the competitiveness of the industry. The companies in long-term industry chain generally agree on the need to strengthen market supervision, guide technological upgrading and cultivate incremental market. Compared with other enterprises, mask and protective clothing enterprises pay more attention to the establishment of pandemic prevention textile emergency reserve and optimization of pandemic prevention textile industrial layout in different places.
In summary, the current rapid development of anti-pandemic textiles such as masks and protective clothing needs to pay attention to the problems of overcapacity and unreasonable layout. In the future, various measures need to be taken to optimize the industrial layout of anti-pandemic textiles and adjust production capacity structure rationally, appropriately develop and cultivate incremental markets, and improve the overall technological competitiveness of the industry. This is of great significance for improving the emergency rescue capabilities of public health emergencies, improving the level of resistance to risks of the whole society, ensuring the safety of people’s lives and property, and maintaining national public health safety.
