晋西吕梁碛口镇地理位置十分重要,在清代之后,因为内蒙古和山西之间粮食等贸易的需求成为水陆运输都很发达的商业重镇。碛口镇的商业从康乾年间开始一直到清末民初,一直蓬勃发展,在当时的山西经济中占据重要地位。
