Prof. Qian Haitian, Vice Director of German Business Office in Hong Kong, has invested heavily in Germany recently pointed out that at present Germany has a total investment of 1 billion U.S. dollars in Hong Kong and is the fifth largest foreign investor in Hong Kong. There are 480 German companies in Hong Kong. Although “1997” is approaching, German companies are still confident about the prospects of Hong Kong, with Germany accounting for about 1.l% of Hong Kong’s overall foreign investment.
