一《上海文学》编辑部要我写一篇关于上海民歌的文章,我踌躇了很久,不敢落笔。论述上海民歌,目前还是一件困难的事情,不仅因为上海是一个大城市,在民间文学现象上存在着复杂的情况;而且由于资产阶级学者传统观念所造成的恶劣影响,他们认为这样的城市里不可能有民歌,他们的结论是“上海无民歌”。因此,在悠长的岁月里,上海的民歌矿藏还很少被人触动过,关于上海民歌的资料很少,更说不上有人作过什么研究了。现在能够搜罗到的民歌资料,解放前的只有两种,一种是1923年出版的胡云翘的《沪谚外编》,另一种是1933年由江苏教育学院出版的《江苏歌谣集》(第三辑沪海区),而这两种民歌集子(《沪谚外编》不完全是民歌),所收的都
A “Shanghai Literature” editorial department asked me to write an article about Shanghai folk songs, I hesitated for a long time, not to drop the pen.
