In the aerospace industry, many key components are assembled by inserting connectors into well-drilled holes. These drilling and connecting operations are performed by robots at higher and higher repetition rates. In order to ensure the integrity of connectors and to maintain the advantages of automation, there is a need for methods and surface condition measurements that improve the speeding of automated hole sizes.
