自塑形象是由美籍华裔中国作家塑造出来的中国人形象,以异国读者为受众,或以处于异域中的中国人为描写对象,这些形象都具有超越国界、文化的意义。作家在进行形象的创造时受多种因素的制约,其中创造者的文化身份认同在形象塑造中起关键作用,而形象创造是确立创造着主体性作用和重建自我文化认同的一个过程,在他国文化吸收过滤中构成创造者本人文化身份认同。
The self-shaping image is a Chinese image shaped by Chinese-American Chinese writers. It takes the readers of different countries as its audience or the Chinese people in the exotic world as objects of description. All of these images have the meaning of transcending borders and cultures. In the process of image creation, the writer is restricted by many factors. Among them, the cultural identity of the creator plays a key role in shaping the image. Image creation is a process of establishing the subjectivity and reconstructing the identity of self-culture. In other countries, Cultural absorption filters constitute the creator’s own cultural identity.
