The authors used Northern and western blot hybridization techniques to analyze the expression of protooncogene BCL-2 mRNA and protein products in 75 human leukemia-lymphoma cell lines from different hematopoietic cell types. The expression of BCL-2 in various cell lines was observed. Distribution and relationship with t(14,18) translocations. Seventy-five leukemia-lymphoma cell lines were classified according to immunophenotype, genotype, and functional characteristics: pre-B cell lines (8), B cell lines (23), plasma cell lines (6), and T cell lines (11 Strain), granulocyte-mononuclear cell line (20 strains), red-megakaryocyte cell line (4 strains), and Hodgkin’s lymphoma-derived cell line (3 strains). Methods The total RNA was extracted using the method of isoindole cyanide/cesium chloride method, and the BCL-2 probe essay was randomized with ~(32)P, and the intensity of the hybridization signal was calibrated by the imaging intensity. BCL-2 protein is separated on SDS-gel, however
