From the end of August to the beginning of September 1992, the 29th IGC General Assembly was held in Kyoto, Japan. The International Society of Paleontology (IPA) held a board of governors and general assembly during the IGC conference to re-elect standing directors and public officials. Past Holders A. Holman (UK), Vice Presidents Zhou Mingzhen (China) and Z. Kieran-Javolovska (Norway / Poland) have all been elected (eight years) and should both be withdrawn Executive Council. Professor Zhang Maman, a Chinese paleontologist and researcher at the Institute of Vertebrate Paleontology and Paleoanthropology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, was elected to the Standing Council and was elected Chairman of the Association for the 14th year (1992-1996).
