Epithelial growth factor (EGF) plays an important role in the growth, division and differentiation of epithelial cells. It stimulates a series of biological effects by coupling to some highly specific receptors on the cell membrane (EGF-R). The lens epithelial cells grow, divide, and differentiate throughout life, and eventually evolve into lens fibers. What is the relationship between this biological property of lens and EGF and EGF-R? It is unclear. In this paper, immunocytochemistry was used to observe the localization of EGF and EGF-R in the lens of neonatal SD rats and adult mice. In order to explore the prevention and treatment of cataract
