图像通常利用无损协议 (如TCP/IP)在因特网上进行传输。无损协议需要重发丢失的数据包 ,而这必然引起传输时间的增加。本文介绍了压缩图像的一种快速有损因特网图像传输方案 (FLIIT)。它通过添加冗余比特保护图像的重要部分来消除重发时延。文中论述了一种高效地分配量化比特和冗余比特来控制量化误差和预测数据包传输丢失的信源和信道联合编码算法。并讨论了这种算法的实现过程 ,以及将它在Internet上传输的性能与相同图像利用TCP/IP协议传输的性能进行比较。通过实验发现 ,得到相同质量的图像 ,用FLIIT方案比TCP/IP快 5倍多
Images are usually transmitted over the Internet using non-destructive protocols such as TCP / IP. Lossless protocols require the retransmission of lost packets, which inevitably causes an increase in transmission time. This article describes a fast and lossy Internet image transmission scheme (FLIIT) for compressed images. It eliminates retransmission delays by adding redundant bits to protect important portions of the image. This paper discusses a joint source and channel coding algorithm that efficiently allocates quantization bits and redundant bits to control the quantization error and predicts the loss of packet transmission. And discusses the implementation process of this algorithm, and compares the performance of its transmission over the Internet with that of the same image using TCP / IP protocol. Through experiments, we found that the same quality of images, using FLIIT program TCP / IP more than 5 times faster
