The recently discovered adhesion molecule, P-selectin, mediates the interaction between platelets and endothelial cells and tumor cells and acts as an adhesion mediator during tumor metastasis. In this study, an animal model was established by in situ transplantation of human gastric cancer cell lines. P-selectin monoclonal antibody or PBS fluid was injected after surgery. As a result, the tumor metastasis rate in the PBS control group was 54.5%. Only 1 patient in the monoclonal antibody group had tumor metastasis. ELISA assay showed that the plasma P-selectin content of tumor metastasis nude mice was significantly higher than that of non-metastatic nude mice. It shows that P-selectin is related to tumor metastasis, and its monoclonal antibody has inhibitory effect on tumor metastasis.
