Shahe is a major tributary of the Huaihe River. It is located in the central part of Henan Province and crosses the two districts of Xuchang and Zhoukou. It flows into Anhui Province from Jishou County, west of Lushan County to the border between Henan and Anhui. The total length of the main stream is 261 kilometers with a total area of 5.8 million mu. For many years, the embankment of Shahe River has been managed well.
