浮坞式码头是在荷兰鹿特丹港已有浮箱式码头运转经验的基础上发展的。 浮坞式码头实质上是一种类似我国“双锋海”的深水转运设备。它是一种单点系泊的带闸门的双体船类型结构。一座浮坞式码头可在坞外两侧各系泊一艘15万吨级远洋船舶,坞室内可以按需要靠泊小至百吨大至万吨的转运船舶,由装置在坞墙顶面上的2—3台装卸机械进行船过船作业,年驳运能力800万吨(约为“双锋海”的2.6倍)。
