《神思》是《文心雕龙》创作论的第一篇,论述艺术构思问题。刘勰从艺术构思中想象的基本特征、艺术构思与日常学识经验积累的关系、语言运用对艺术构思的重要意义、艺术构思与创作主体的个性才能及文章体制的关系四个方面对艺术构思问题进行了全面、系统而深刻的理论阐述,这一阐述不仅达到了时代的最高水平,更为中国古代的艺术构思论创造了基本的话语体系。
