深深扎根于数千年农耕文化基础之上的庆阳民间工艺美术,其历史悠久,文化底蕴深厚。尤其是陇东香包刺绣艺术更是深深植根于人民群众的生产生活之中。其刺绣艺术千百年来与陇东地区人民的生活息息相关。其主要特点是粗犷原始、古朴神秘。最具黄土高原雄浑、厚重的风格。其形制大体可分为配饰、装饰、喜庆、民用四大系列200多种。由于其悠久的历史文化积淀和厚重的民俗艺术内涵,一直以来都是民俗研究和中国非物质文化探寻的重要课题。
