汉字不同于世界上任何一种文字,这不仅在于它以形表意的独特方式,还在于它所独具的审美特性。汉字从创制到使用的整个漫长过程中,人们除了把它当成一种记录语言的符号外,也始终把它当做一种审美对象,并赋予其特有的审美功能。汉字因受汉民族审美意识和审美情趣影响而成为富有“艺术气质”的文字,并形成了书法艺术,成为人们审美活动的重要内容和美育的传统手段。它对中国传统美学的形成和发展,产生了深远的影响。
Chinese characters differ from any other type of writing in the world not only because of its distinctive form of representation but also its unique aesthetic features. In the entire long process of Chinese characters from creation to use, people regard it as a symbol of the recording language, and regard it as an aesthetic object all the time and endow it with its unique aesthetic function. Chinese characters become rich “artistic temperament” due to the aesthetic sense of the Han nationality and aesthetic taste, forming the calligraphic art and becoming the important content of people’s aesthetic activities and the traditional means of aesthetic education. It has had a profound impact on the formation and development of Chinese traditional aesthetics.
