在节日的欢腾归于平静之后,笔者又看了一遍美国电影《护送钱斯》的碟片,在类似寂静战场的气氛里,再次回味这则令人陌生的“士兵回家”故事。影片记录了在伊拉克阵亡的美军陆战队士兵钱斯,经由一位上校军官麦克全程护送,沿途备享尊崇而魂归故里的过程。电影源于真实发生的故事,只是因为那位护送军官留下了一份非常详尽的记录文本,于是吸引了HBO(Home Box Office,美国最大的电影频道)投拍,据说最初的形态是纪录片。因而它记录的是那个国家的日常现实,这样的故事多年来一直在美国上演着:
After the festive exhilaration was at peace, I read the American film Escort Ancestral, again reminding me of the strange story of Soldier Returns in a quiet battlefield atmosphere. The film documents the death of US Marine Corps Chase, who was killed in Iraq, escorted by a colonel officer Mike throughout the journey, enjoying the respect and soul of his hometown. The story stems from the real story just because the escort officer left a very detailed record of the text that drew the HBO (Home Box Office) film, the first of which was said to be a documentary. And so it documents the daily reality of that country, a story that has staged in the United States for years:
