多样的环境所决定的多样技术选择必有与之相应的作物结构,社会环境条件的改变必然会引起相应的作物结构的变化。不同的环境条件对作物组合有着不同的影响,清代河南地区农业人地关系紧张导致技术集约化程度的提高,相应作物组合的时空差异在多样化趋势下更为灵活而显著。尽管在一定区域内传统的作物种类具有多样而相对稳定的特点,并随着一定的技术选择趋向具有相对集中的趋势,但在清代特定的社会环境与经济条件下,作物组合的多样化趋势主要是通过种植制度的调整与经营方式的转换来实现。这种以土地出产率提高为目标的技术选择是清代农业发展的重要途径。
