WAN access vendors Ascend Communications, Shiva, Adtran and Red Creek Communications have introduced voice and data management products that provide users with greater bandwidth connectivity and greater flexibility. Ascend expanded its MultiVoice voice data convergence strategy by announcing cooperation with software vendor eFusion. eFusion will provide its Voice over IP technology to Ascend’s recently announced MultiVoice Gateway hardware. The first product included in MultiVoice will be an Internet call waiting application that will notify the user when a screen has been entered. Call and provide options on how to handle the call (including answering the call, sending it to voicemail, or sending the call out). Future applications will include a “push chat” feature that enables users to associate themselves with a service by clicking on a button on a web page
