千百年来,生活在和田的各个民族,经过漫长的历史发展过程,伴随着和田独特自然环境的沧桑变化,受到不同宗教思想的侵染,逐步形成了独特的风俗习惯,反映在服饰,饮食,人生礼仪,婚姻丧葬,宗教信仰,喜好禁忌和文化艺术等等诸多方面。但是各民族毕竟有不同的历史发展,心里状态,风俗习惯等等,民族差异仍然存在并且会长期存在,各民族矛盾的不和谐因素仍然存在并会长期存在,从而使不同民族间产生隔阂。
