1978年泰国的经济增长,令人满意。特别在工农业生产方面,增长更加迅速。农业产量的飞跃增长,部份由于1977年受旱面积小——虽说1978年曾经发生一些灾情比原先估计严重得多的水灾。在外贸部门,由于1977年农作歉收,农产商品数额减少;去年其出口货额比前年低。工业品的出口实绩良好。不过,由于1978年工业投资增长,要求增加进口资本货物和原料。
In 1978, Thailand’s economic growth was satisfactory. Especially in industrial and agricultural production, the growth is even faster. The dramatic increase in agricultural output was due in part to the small area of drought in 1977 - though there were some floods in 1978 that were much later than originally estimated. In the foreign trade sector, as a result of the poor harvest in 1977, the amount of agricultural products decreased; the export volume of the agricultural products last year was lower than that of the previous year. Exports of industrial products performed well. However, due to the increase of industrial investment in 1978, it is required to increase the import of capital goods and raw materials.
