本文对图书情报教育发展趋向的分析,其基本观点即认为图书馆学与情报学是一门单纯研究情报资源管理的统一的学科,利用已有资料最大限度地为个人、团体以及整个社会提供服务。分析目的在于揭示图书情报教育在过去十年中的变化,并进而推断它在未来十年中随着美国与其它国家从工业社会发展到信息社会而可能出现的趋向。图书馆学家与情报学家能否应付信息社会的挑战,很大程度将取决于图书情报教育的质量,取决于学校培养学生担负新而广泛的情报服务的能力。塞罗塞维克在他的关于情报教育的过去
This paper analyzes the trend of library and information education, the basic view that the library science and information science is a simple study of intelligence resources management, a unified discipline, the use of existing information to maximize the personal, community and society as a whole . The purpose of the analysis is to reveal the changes in library and information education over the past decade and to deduce the trends that may emerge over the next decade as the United States and other countries develop from an industrial to an information society. The challenge of library sociologists and intelligence theaters to the Information Society will depend to a large extent on the quality of LIS education and on the ability of schools to prepare students for new and widespread intelligence services.
