【日本《原子能快报》1985年4月1日第2页报道】加拿大能源资源矿山部最近汇总的该国的铀生产量为14,549吨(U_3O_8),比1983年的9,275吨提高了56.8%。迄今为止,居世界第一位的铀生产国——美国由于受国内核电站建设不景气的影响,1984年的铀生产量仅为9,000吨左右。这样,加拿大成为西方首屈一指的铀生产国。加拿大所以能成为居世界第一位的铀生产国,是因为该国萨斯喀彻温省北部的大型铀矿—基湖铀矿于1984年初完全投产,埃里奥特湖和克拉夫湖等地区的铀矿生产情况也良好。
[Atomic Energy Express, Japan, April 1, 1985, p. 2] The Canadian Ministry of Energy Resources and Mines recently compiled a total of 14,549 tons (U_3O_8) of uranium, an increase of 56.8% from 9,275 tons in 1983. To date, the U.S.-leading uranium producer, the U.S., has produced only 9,000 tons of uranium in 1984 due to the sluggish construction of nuclear power plants in the country. In this way, Canada has become the leading uranium producer in the West. Canada was able to become the world’s number one uranium producer because the large-scale uranium deposit in the northern part of Saskatchewan in the country, the Kihu uranium mine, was fully put into production in early 1984, Elliot Lake and Kraff Lake, etc. Uranium production in the region is also good.
