雪龙山变质带由古—中元古代工江岩组、中梁子岩组、阿马普岩组及四十驮岩组和白龙里吾巴片麻岩、大宝山片麻岩，以及印支期叠加的箐口塘等两个糜棱岩带所组成。经历了以晋宁期为主，叠加了华力西期、印支期等多期变质，产生了三期结晶面理，主期变质达高绿片岩相→低角闪岩相中压区域动力热流递进变质；受到了同变质期和叠加了喜马拉雅期多期构造变形。原岩为古—中元古代大陆边缘增生复理石建造和钾质花岗岩建造。
