Handling the power and particle exhaust in fusion reactors based on conventional divertor technologies is a challenging problem.[1-3] For the divertor design of HCSB-DEMO (Helium-cooled Solid Breeder,HCSB),[4] the fusion power is about 5 times larger than that for ITER,while the tolerable heat load on the divertor is below 10MW/m2,which is one of the design targets for HCSB-DEMO steady-state operation.How to handle such lots of exhaust power in SOL/divertor regions is one of the key issues in validating the design of HCSB-DEMO.[5] The main plasma parameters of HCSB-DEMO are shown in Table 1.The core plasma parameters are simulated by ONETWO transport code,about 10-30% of heating power will be radiated in the core plasma region.The remaining power of 500-600 MW will flow into SOL/divertor regions.
