The authors used 70 Wistar rat models of brain injury caused by impact of falling into the body. The cerebral cortex and white matter of rats were measured at 6, 24, 48, 72 and 168 h after injury (n = 10 in each injury group) by dry and wet specific methods , And the contents of calcium in the cerebral cortex and serum were detected.Water content of cerebral white matter 6 h after cerebral injury was significantly increased (79.87 ± 0.53, P <0.01), and peaked at 48 h after injury (81.02 ± 0.51) 1 week after the close to the control value. After cerebral injury, cerebral cortex and serum calcium levels were increased to varying degrees, the increase in cerebral cortex calcium was more obvious, 48 h after injury as high as 24.12 ± 10.22mmol / kg dry brain, the control value Of 1.83 times. The results suggest that the accumulation of injured hemispheric calcium may be one of the important factors in the occurrence and development of cerebral edema.
