三年前的2011年3月11日,日本宫城县东方外海发生的9.0级地震以及随之而来的海啸,在福岛第一核电厂造成了一系列设备损毁、堆芯熔毁、辐射释放等灾害事件。福岛第一核电站事故对1986年乌克兰切尔诺贝利核电厂事故之后正在复兴的核能造成了很大的冲击。在发达国家这种冲击显得尤为明显。一些国家放弃了重启切尔诺贝利核事故后暂停的核计划方案。整整三年时间过去了,国际上对福岛核辐射所产生的影响究竟如何反应,我们这里编译了这三年当中Nature上所报道的三篇文章,分别是关于法国如何更审慎监管他们的核设施,美国如何启动新的核项目以及其中的各方争论,还有一篇美国如何处理核废料的科学进展,以对这一态势有所反映。——编者
Three years ago, on March 11, 2011, a 9.0-magnitude earthquake off the eastern outskirts of Miyagi Prefecture in Japan and the ensuing tsunami caused a series of equipment damage, core meltdown and radiation at the Fukushima Daiichi NPP Release and other disasters. The Fukushima Daiichi accident caused a huge impact on the nuclear energy being revived after the 1986 Chernobyl nuclear accident in Ukraine. In developed countries this impact is particularly evident. Some countries have given up their nuclear program that was suspended after the restart of the Chernobyl nuclear accident. A full three years have passed and how the international impact on the nuclear radiation in Fukushima actually reacted. We compiled here three articles in this three-year Nature report on how France should exercise more prudential supervision over their nuclear Facilities, how the United States started a new nuclear program and the various parties involved in the debate, as well as an article on how the United States is going to deal with the scientific advances in nuclear waste in order to reflect the situation. --editor
