Objective According to commissioned by a steel pipe company, the first coiled tubing production line in Asia was pre-evaluated for occupational hazards. Methods The methods of checklist, analogy, experience and comprehensive analysis were used to conduct qualitative and quantitative evaluation. Results The main occupational hazards of the project are: noise, local vibration, X-ray, dust, high-frequency electromagnetic field, high temperature, ozone, nitrogen oxides, carbon monoxide, infrared, ultraviolet, electric field and so on. According to the regulations of the state on the classification and management of occupational disease-causing construction projects, the project uses X-ray and other industrial flaw detection machines and should belong to serious construction projects with serious occupational hazards. Quasi-noise is the primary occupational hazard of coiled tubing production. Conclusion The project is feasible from an occupational health perspective.
