UK Kvaerner Process Technology (KPT) has started the foundation design of the world’s first 500,000 t/d methanol plant and will be launched in 2010 at Methanol Holding (Trinidad) ltd. in Point Lisas, Trinidad. Construction, put into operation in 2003-03. The device is the first to use Kvaerner’s “improved low-quality methanol” (ILPM) process technology
