Stroke is one of the leading causes of death in the United States, with about 40% of cerebral infarctions caused by unknown causes. About 1/3 of patients with acute ischemic stroke have been reported to be associated with infection or psychological stress. In order to confirm whether the above-mentioned reasons can promote the occurrence of cerebral infarction, researchers from Department of Neurology, University of Southern California School of Medicine in Los Angeles studied the relationship between recent infection or inflammation and psychological stress and stroke. Using a controlled study, a total of 118 people, including 37 patients with acute ischemic stroke, the control group of 81 people. 47 in the control group were from the community and 34 were inpatients with non-stroke neurological disease.
