Objective To investigate the impact of acrylonitrile (ACN) on the health of workers. Methods A total of 86 workers using ACN were selected as the contact group and 76 non-contact ACN workers as the control group. The control group consisted of 86 workers, including the age, length of service, proportion of smoking, living conditions, years of education Balance with the contact group comparable. Physical examination and routine laboratory tests were conducted on the subjects and the neurobehavioral function was evaluated using the POMS Questionnaire in the core behavioral testing core set by WHO. Results The symptoms of eye contact and vomiting in the contact group were higher than those in the control group (P <0.05), and the incidence of dry skin was significantly higher than that in the control group (P <0.01). The score of male anger in the contact group was significantly higher than that of the control group (P <0.01). The scores of anger, depression and fatigue in the contact group were significantly higher than those in the control group (P <0.01). At the same time, women’s scores of nervous status were also higher than those of the control group (P <0.05). Conclusion Long-term exposure to low concentrations of ACN may have some impact on human health
