NASA’s Space Telescope (ST) program will make a significant contribution to astronomical research in the 1980s. The program is the third largest space project ever to pay the most after the Apollo and Shuttle programs. In addition to being responsible for the design and manufacture of solar panels and their drive mechanisms, ESA will also actively participate in the program. It will also provide one of the major astronomical observatories of the space telescope - the FOC camera - Annotation). In addition to a brief introduction to the overview of the space telescope, this article will focus on the basic performance characteristics of the glimmer camera, the design of the optoelectronic system and related aspects of the structure, temperature control, electronic equipment and orbital operations.
