Multi-provincial cardiovascular surveillance in China Collaborative research to monitor the level of cardiovascular risk factors (25-64 years old) and its trends were monitored. The main results are as follows: (1) The average blood pressure and the prevalence of hypertension Higher than the southern region below the international average; serum total cholesterol and body mass index below the international average, and also showed a north to south distribution; male smoking rates higher than the international average and no significant regional differences in female smoking rates Below the international average, the north is higher than the south. (2) Trend analysis of partial population for 10 years (1984-1993) showed no significant increase and decrease of blood pressure level in most of the population; the serum total cholesterol and body mass index of most people showed an upward trend; the smoking rate of most people showed a downward trend. MONITORING THE TREND AND DETERMINANTS OF CVD IN MULTI PROVINCES AND COUNTIES IN CHINA (MONICA PROJECT IN CHINA). Population Risk Factors Monitoring Results Wu Zhaosuo Yao Chonghua Zhao Dong Wu Guixian Wang Wei Liu Jing Zeng Zhechun Wu Yingkai Abstract A collaborative study on surveillance of cardiovascular disease in multiple provinces and cities in China has been conducted to monitor the level of cardiovascular risk factors and their trends in the population (25-64 years old) The results are as follows: (1) The average blood pressure and the prevalence of hypertension in the north were higher than those in the south, lower than the international average. The serum total cholesterol and body mass index were below the international average and were also distributed from north to south. Male smoking rates were higher than the international average and there were no obvious regional differences. Female smoking rates were below the international average and higher in the north than in the south. (2) Trend analysis of some population for 10 years (from 1984 to 1993) showed no obvious blood pressure level in the population.
