1.课本原句:Copacabana,also known as the“Princess of the Sea”,has just cele-brated its one hundredth birthday and is more beautiful than ever.(P.35)指点迷津:also known as the“Princess of the Sea”为过去分词短语,在此作定语,修饰其前面的名词Copacabana。过去分词作定语与其它非谓语形式作定语的区别是(以do为例):done表示“被动或完成”;being done表示“被动、正在进行的动作”;to be done则表示“将要发生的被动动作”。

As an attribute here, it modifies the noun Copacabana before it.
