Methyl isobutyl ketone (MIBK) is acolorless, transparent and flammable liquid.It is mainly used as solvent and organic rawmaterial.Constant expansion ofcapacityThe capacity of MIBK in China was around64 000 t/a by the end of 2008. The outputwas around 28 000 tons in 2008, an increaseof around 56% over 2007. The major pro-ducer is PetroChina Jilin Petrochemical Co.,Ltd. It has a MIBK capacity of 30 000 t/atoday. The company constructed an MIBKunit with the biggest capacity in China in2005 and the capacity of the unit is 15 000
