棉花是常异交作物,它的自然演变和生产需要不一致,容易串花杂交、变异、退化。通过杂交定向培育出的优良品种,往往由于这种缘故和其他外因的影响,品质不易稳定。要解决这个矛盾,须进行棉花自交,控制外界自然环境对良种的影响。为此,近年来我在育种实践中试制出棉花自交圈。运用这种自交圈进行棉花自交,比用老法自交提高工效3-5倍。一个熟练的劳动力每小时能完成100朵花的套圈,每人每天早晚平均可以完成0.2亩棉田的套圈任务(初花期完成面积较多,盛花期少些)。运用自交圈进行棉花自交,操作比较简单。将棉花自交圈适时正确地套在即将开放的棉花花冠上,
