The connotation of the idealism of Doris Lessing changed greatly before and after her departure from Africa to Britain as a world after World War II. In his early predecessor, Lessing inherited the ideals and realistic dichotomy of the Western idealist model. She criticized the ugly reality of racial discrimination and aspired to an ideal society of racial equality. Later, Lessing gradually questioned the Western idealist model. Contrary to the promising promise promised by western idealism, she constantly imagined a uglier future than she did in reality. Lessing’s idealism is related to both cross-cultural experiences and to the evolution from blind optimism to cynicism in Western idealism in the 20th century.
