From January to August, the national capital construction completed an investment of 187.526 billion yuan. Among them, the completion of investment in water and thermal power accounted for 27.7% and 49.93% of the total respectively; the newly increased production capacity (officially put into production) was 51 783.4 MW, with a smaller production of 7 982.3 MW than the same period of 2007.
