Since the advent of nuclear technology, in addition to its tremendous power, the nuclear radiation problem it has brought has also been the focus of attention all over the world. Japanese photographer Arai Shinobu spent a decade focused on this issue. His new monumental “Monument” won the 2016 Japan’s famous Kimura Iwate Photography Award. On the early morning of March 1, 1954, the fifth Japanese Fukushima fishing boat was fishing at a distance of 160 kilometers from the Bikini Atoll in the Marshall Islands.
