碧野的《天山景物记》有两处写到新疆草原上的野马: “那长长的鬣鬃在黎明淡青的天光下,就象许多飘曳的缎幅。”“当野马群远离人们站定的时候,在日出的草原上,还可以看见屹立护群的公野马的长鬣鬃,那鬣鬃一直披垂到膝下,闪着美丽的光泽。”这两段描写给读者留下的印象很深。然而今年夏天我到北京在动物园看到野马之后,发现作者的描写有一个不小的疏忽。记得那一块说明的木牌子上面写着:“野马。……头大,额毛短。”原来野马的鬣鬃很短,只有几寸长。回来以后仍不放心,唯恐所见的那一匹属不 Bi Ye’s “The Mountain Scenery” has two wild horses written on the grasslands of Xinjiang: “The long dragonfly is like a lot of swaying satin under the dawn of light blue sky.” “When the wild horses are far from people’s standing At the time of the sunrise on the grasslands, you can also see the long-billed horses of the public mustangs standing on the moors, which have been draped over their knees and shining with beautiful luster.” These two paragraphs depict the impression left by the readers deep. After returning, I still did not rest assured, for fear that the one I saw was not
