The Naval Aerospace Systems Command (NAVAIR) is trying to negotiate with Sanders, a Lockheed Martin-affiliated company, to add an additional IDECM development contract to develop the IDECM Fiber Trap Lure (FOTD) To meet the “special requirements” of the Air Force’s U-2 aircraft. Currently, the IDECM system only plans to install the newly-built F / A-18E / F aircraft. However, the USAF is considering incorporating the IDECM FOTD into the proposed B-1B Improvement Program And FOTD was used on F-15 and F-16 fighters, so the Air Force also invested some research and development funding into the program.
