钱学森在美国学习和工作期间,尤其在1937年至1945年间,主要从事包括航空航天与火箭技术在内的应用力学研究,为美国早期火箭从理论预研、应用研究到基本型号的系列化研制,进而为世界反法西斯战争胜利和现代航空航天与火箭技术的发展做出了重要贡献。同时,钱学森早年参与美国早期火箭研制的科研经历,也为他日后报效祖国奠定了坚实的基础。钱学森回国是新中国对美外交斗争取得成功的一个典型案例。
During his studies and work in the United States, Qian Xuesen was mainly engaged in applied mechanics research including aerospace and rocket technology from 1937 to 1945. He started his research on the theory, application and research of the early American rocket model from the theoretical research and application to the basic model. And thus made an important contribution to the victory of the world anti-fascist war and the development of modern aerospace and rocket technology. At the same time, Qian’s early involvement in the scientific research of the early rocket development in the United States laid a solid foundation for his future work in the motherland. Qian Xuesen’s return to China is a typical case of the success of New China in its diplomatic struggle with the United States.
