An adaptive image coding algorithm based on human visual characteristics is discussed. The algorithm uses visual threshold coding and adaptive scanning technology based on JPEG. The simulation results show that the proposed algorithm is superior to JPEG in terms of coding performance and visual sensation at high compressibility.
