INTRODUCTION Following the classic work of Sears on the transfer of leaf rust resistance from Aegilops umbellutata to common wheat, some researchers have successfully introduced heterologous resistance genes into hexaploid wheat. Although some researchers have identified heterologous lines on Durum, there has been no report of heterologous gene transfer to tetraploid wheat. If this transfer can be induced, this useful rust-resistance gene in wild and cultivated wheat relatives would be valuable for durum wheat breeding. In this study, the genes for resistance to stalk rust were composed of Agropyrn elongatum and black
