Animal experiments show that dental implant with a cancellous structured titani-um (CSTi) coating shows very good osseointegration properties in animal models in that the bone grows into the porous titanium coating up to 80%. At 34 weeks post mandibular and femoral implant, the values of bone adhesion were as high as 12 MPa and 32 MPa, comparable to HA coatings.
