Objective To understand the prevalence of anemia among children in kindergarten in Baiyin District, Baiyin City, Gansu Province, and to provide evidence for the implementation of preventive interventions. Methods 75 urban and rural nursery children belonging to Baiyin District were tested for Hb by cyanidation methemoglobin method and analyzed statistically. Results A total of 10 850 children were enrolled. The mean Hb was (130.76 ± 11.95) g / L. 228 anemia patients were detected, with a prevalence of 2.10%. Among them, 225 patients with mild anemia had a prevalence of 2.07%, moderate anemia There were 3 cases of patients, the prevalence was 0.03%, there was no severe anemia; 110 cases of male children, the prevalence was 2.07%, 118 cases of female children, the prevalence was 2.14%, the prevalence of anemia in different genders was no (Χ2 = 0.987, P> 0.05). The prevalence rate was the highest in 3-year-old and 3-year-old group, which were 3.92% and 3.48% respectively. The lowest prevalence was 5 years old and 6 years old %, 0.62%. The prevalence of anemia among children in all age groups was significantly different (χ2 = 76.340, P <0.05). The prevalence of anemia among children in urban kindergarten was lower than that in rural kindergarten children (3.95% %), The difference was statistically significant (χ2 = 92.999, P <0.05). Conclusion The anemia of children in Baiyin district of Baiyin City has been significantly improved. However, interventions for children of different ages are still needed to reduce the incidence of anemia and improve the health of children.
