几千年来,中国文人的入世情结一直很重,他们动辄“为天地立心,为生民立命,为往圣继绝学,为万世开太平”,一付睥睨天下舍我其谁的派头。诚然,他们关心国家命运,忧患天下苍生的爱国情怀,自有其积极意义。但是,在那个生杀予夺全系于皇帝一人一时之喜怒的封建社会里,入世者如果缺乏驾驭政治的自知之明,缺乏对政治环境的审时度势,那么就会出现李国文先生所说的局面:“中国知识分子的政治情结,说来也是一种痛苦的自虐。明知是杯苦酒,但一个个却巴不得地端起来一饮而尽。于是,只要卷入政治漩涡之中,这个文人,纵使满腹经纶,纵使才高八斗,也就统统付诸东流了。”能苟全性命于乱世,已属万幸,而大多时候,文人们所深恋着的政治,往往会变成导引他们走向地狱之门的通行证。明代江南才子、《永乐大典》总编辑解缙即是这些文人中极有代表性的一个。
