利用数控机床加工非圆齿轮可以分为毛坯的加工和轮齿的插制两部分。其中毛坯的加工可以在数控线切割机床上进行,也可以用不带轮齿的圆柱插刀插制而成,而轮齿的插制则在数控插齿机上完成。木文首先给出了利用线切割机床加工非圆齿轮毛坯时的运动关系分析,在利用不带轮齿的圆柱插刀插制毛坯时,其运动关系与之类似。其次,重点研究了利用数控插齿机插制非圆齿轮时的运动关系分析,并对插制非圆齿轮时的切入、切出过程进行了深入分析。在此基础上编制了能自动生成数控插齿机用程序的计算机软件。此外还进行了加工过程的计算机仿真。
